काँक्रो in English is called as “Cucumber“. Kakro or काँक्रो is the Nepali word for cucumber. It is a green or brown cylindrical shape vegetable grown in almost every parts of Nepal. It is a climber and needs support to climb. It is mainly used as salad, pickle and vegetable in Nepalese kitchens.

It contains about 96% of water along with fiber, vitamin B, K & C, Copper and Potassium. Due to its higher water content, it is good vegetable for digestive system, lowering cholesterol and are often consumed for reducing body weight.
