फापर (Fapar) is grown in south Asian countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan. फापर is a Nepali spoken word which is called Buckwheat in English. It is cultivated in hilly parts of the regions. In Nepal, फापर (Fapar) is cultivated in Dolpa, Jumla, Baitadi, Humla, Manang and Mustang which are equals to or above an altitude of 2500 meter.
